Sara BAÑERAS

Soprano

Sara Bañeras began singing at the age of two using the Suzuki method.  Graduated of economics studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2013, she also studied musicology, theatre and piano. In the field of music research, she was several times rewarded in national competitions for her memoir on «Singing: an art or a technique?".

 

In 2012, she made her debut in the opera of the Zarzuela "Cançó d'amor i de Guerra" in which she plays the main role of Francina. In 2013, she played Pamina at the Siena Music Festival directed by Michael Rossi. In 2014, she played Amore, in "Orfeo et Euridice" with BOS, Miss Rowan in "The little sweep" in collaboration with Sabadell Professional Conservatory, Madame Silberklang in "Der Schauspieldirektor" and Frasquita in "Carmen", in a production by Novaria at the Palau de la Música Catalana, with the Terrassa Symphony Orchestra conducted by X. Puig.

In 2015 she made her debut as Madame Herz in "Der Schauspieldirektor" in a school production and as Massira in "Tibidabo Lake", a new operetta by X. Canut, at Teatre Catòlic in Gràcia. She also plays Lisinga in "Le cinesi de M. Garcia" in a co-production between Els Amics of the Opéra de Sarrià, the theatre of Sarrià (Barcelona) and the Rossini Festival at the Kurtheater in Wildbad (Germany). In this festival she also plays Celinda in the premiere of "Il vespro Siciliano" by Lindpaintner directed by F. Longo, giving rise to the recording of a CD. Winner of the Mirna Lacambra 2015 competition, she is studying at the Sabadell Opera Academy where she performs Marcellina, with the Simfònica del Vallès Orchestra conducted by Mr. D Gil Tejada.

In 2016, she plays Musetta in "La Bohème", directed by S. Brotons, and Annina in "La Traviata" in Calella under the direction of R. Estrada. She is the winner of the 2nd prize of the Concours de chant Odissea de la veu (2016) and the 2nd prize of the Concurso internacional de Medinaceli (2017).

She is chosen to participate in the Accademia Rossiniana in 2016 in Pesaro, directed by M. A. Zedda to interpret "Il viaggio a Reims". She plays Alfonsina de "Il Convito" de Cimarosa with the Opera Jove de Toni Sans and directed by Jordi Piccorelli on a tour around Catalonia, Erste Dame in "Die Zauberflöte" and Cosette in "Los Bohemios" at the Palau de la Musica de Valencia.

Sara has participated as an active student in a number of master classes: Dr. P. Kukkamäki (1996, 1999, 2001), J. Artysz (2007), M. Caballé (2010, 2015), L. Serra (2011), R. Scotto (2013), J. Aragall (2014), JD Flórez (2016), T. Berganza (2016), E. Fiorillo (2015), R. Giménez (2015), L. Regazzo (2015), F. Roig (2015). ), K. Tretyakova (2016) and with conductors M. Ortega (2012, 2016), A. Zedda (2015, 2016), C. Soler (2017) and Marco Guidarini (2018).

She currently holds a Master’s degree in Opera at the Conservatory of Valencia, studying with soprano Ofelia Sala and tenor Dalmacio Gonzalez.


Her repertoire includes the most important roles for light opera soprano: Adèle, Adina, Amenaide, Amina, Despina, Fiorilla, Frasquita, Gilda, Giulietta, Konstanze, Lauretta, Lucia, Musetta, Nanetta, Norina, Olympia, Oscar, Pamina, Susana , Semiramide, Zaide, Zerlina ...
