Alberta ALEXANDRESCU
Pianist
Alberta Alexandrescu made her debut as a soloist with orchestra at the age of 12, on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum, the most renowned concert hall in Romania.
At the age of 18, she successfully entered the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, where she received her first prize three years later. She specializes with Dimitri Bashkirov, Claude Franck and Francois-René Duchable.
In 1995 she received the third prize of the Marguerite Long/Jacques-Thibaud Competition, as well as the Sacem Prize. Supported by the Nadia Biulanger Foundation, the music critic awards her the prize for young performers in 1998. Alberta Alexandrescu has been regularly invited by the best Romanian orchestras during concerts of Chopin, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Beethoven, Grieg, Schumann, Saint-Saëns, Mozart and Bach.
She also performs in solo recital and chamber music with partners such as Gheorghe Zamfir, Bertrand Chamayou, Nicolas Baldeyrou on many stages and festivals (Elne Piano Fortissimo, Chopin Festival in Paris etc.), during the Gala Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud, at the Théâtre Champs-Élysées, at the French Institute in Bucharest, in Toronto, but also in Colombia and Brazil.
Alberta Alexandrescu has participated in numerous television (Musique au coeur…) and radio programs in France and Romania. She has published recordings of her interpretations of the works of Schumann, Schubert and Liszt under the label Rem.
